Computers the Internet, the World Wide Web and email are all fast becoming common place technologies in today's modern homes. Together they provide convenient means for many useful activities with communication, shopping, leisure and entertainment being key among these.
If you are keen to keep 'up to speed' with these developments and take full advantage of home computing or just wish to be able to write a letter, report etc or access the internet and send/receive emails then this introductory course might be ideal for you.
While it is possible to make progress using the information and manual supplied with your computer it can often be more productive and pleasant to learn in a supportive environment in the company of others, experiencing the same problems and with the help and guidance from an understanding and patient tutor. Extensive course notes and helpful video tutorials will be provided.
This course is aimed at anyone having either no or very little experience of home computers and who is considering or perhaps has already purchased a computer [desktop or laptop] and is finding the supplied information, the frequent use of jargon and dealing with the technology somewhat daunting and some times frustrating.
The course assumes no prior computer experience and is very much for the new or novice computer user. It covers topics from the very basic, such as turning your computer on & off and controlling the mouse, through to using software and finally to accessing information and email via the Internet. Please click on the links at the bottom of this page to learn more about the course and its contents.
